An upgrade of the VoIP service at Penn State University Park was completed this past weekend, which included testing and verification that the upgrade was successful.
During the 10-day period from 6:00 p.m. tomorrow, June 16, through 7:00 p.m. on June 26, TNS will be preparing for an upgrade to the University Park VoIP service, itself to be completed Monday, June 29.
While all VoIP-related services will remain operational during this period, there is one aspect warranting attention: Changes that are made by individuals, between close-of-business tomorrow, and midnight, June 28, will not carry over to the new configuration. Specifically, these are changes to VoIP system phone forwarding, ring tones, personal address books and fast dial /speed dial settings. Such changes made during that timeframe, while put into effect during the period, will need to be re-entered after the upgrade is completed.
TNS suggests that these types of changes be made, if possible, either prior to close of business on June 16th, or delayed until after the completion of the upgrade on June 29th. After June 29, changes can be made and will be retained in the normal fashion.
