Today at 10:11, email.psu.edu started experiencing problems with establishing new connections for IMAP and POP protocols. It was determined that the hardware module that does the encryption (SSL) was not allowing new connections. Any existing connections were functioning properly. The module was reset and as of 10:43, email.psu.edu was accepting new connections.
POP and IMAP connections to the mail server email.psu.edu are failing: staff are working on the problem.
WebMail and UCS are not affected.
