The Extended Maintenance Window for Skillport is now complete. The Skillport sites are available for use immediately. This includes accessing course content and certificates of completion. The upgrade should have included a Java-free environment. However, Penn State staff and Skillsoft are still working to complete this portion of the upgrade.

Original Alert

The Center for Workplace Learning & Performance (CWLP) will be working with Skillsoft to upgrade the Skillport platform to version 8.0 on July 2 and 3, 2014.

What does this mean to me?

During this time period, Skillport will be unavailable to all users.
You will not be able to access Skillport’s course content or your certificates of completion. If you have any trainings that need to be completed by these dates, you should do so ahead of time.

What is changing in Skillport?

The upgrade includes an improved user interface that is more responsive and will be available on both desktop and tablet devices. In addition, the new version will allow users using HTML5 browsers (such as Internet Explorer 10 or higher, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari 5.0 or higher) to launch content in a Java-free environment, which means users won’t have to download plug-ins or make sure they have the latest version of Java installed prior to accessing training.

When will this be resolved?

The upgrade will be completed and Skillport will be available on Friday, July 4, 2014. For more information, please visit
