As of 9:20 PM, Enterprise IT has fully restored PASS services. Initial cause appears to have been network hardware failure.

PASS services are being returned to normal. Enterprise IT staff are still working to fully resolve the issues. Affected sites including www.personal.psu.edu, www.work.psu.edu, www.psu.edu/dept, and www.dept.psu.edu appear to now be functioning normally.

Enterprise IT is still working to resolve the PASS issues. Some sites affected include www.personal.psu.edu, www.work.psu.edu, www.psu.edu/dept, and www.dept.psu.edu.

The IT Service Desk will continue to post updates to this alert as more information becomes available.

Original Alert

Starting just before 6pm, PASS admins noticed some problems and are working stabilizing the cluster. Some nodes have unmounted filesystems. Users may see errors connecting to PASS or accessing files while this problem is occurring.
