As of 1:25 p.m., users are once again able to connect to WebAccess-protected sites and services such as LionPATH, WebMail, the Employee Self-Service Information System (ESSIC). Canvas was available through an alternate log in method. Penn State IT staff members have identified an issue with a firewall vendor as the cause of the outage that affected Penn State and other customers. Penn State IT continues to monitor the situation. More information will be posted here as it becomes available.

Teams within Enterprise IT are still working to resolve this outage. Users are able to login to Canvas at this time. It has been identified that some Listservs are unable to send messages successfully. We will continue to update this alert as more information becomes available.

Original Alert

As of 10:05am, students, faculty and staff members are experiencing issues connecting to websites behind Penn State WebAccess, the University's online authentication system that protects WebMail, LionPATH, Canvas, the Employee Self-Service Information (ESSIC) and more. Penn State IT staff are aware of and are working diligently to rectify the issue. We will post updates as they become available.
